Bibles for Believers is seeking Marathon runners to help raise funds for Bibles. In 2009 Hannalie Loots ran the Comrades Marathon (89km) in South Africa to raise funds for the Sena Bible Project. She raised a substantial amount. We are hoping to see over 100 runners doing a sponsored Comrades for Bibles for Believers in 2010.
If you are already entered in the 2010 Comrades or know someone who is – we need your help! Bibles for Believers is not one of the official charities of the Comrades and therefore you cannot run with a sign or badge, but you can privately get people to sponsor your run. Usually runners are sponsored per kilometre, or sponsors simply make a donation to towards the placement of Bibles in the hands of God’s children.
Running any marathon, and even more so with the Comrades, calls for great dedication and hard work. Completing a long distance race has huge personal value to the runner. Now you can add an even greater purpose to all your effort by running for Bibles. In many of the big marathons, like the London Marathon, thousands of people run sponsored races – raising funds for their favourite charity. This added value is a great motivator to finish the race, even when the going gets tough. If you run other marathons anywhere in the world you can also run for Bibles. Contact us for details.
Getting involved is simple. E-mail Us your contact details and postal address (or use the form) and we will send you all the needed materials. If you know someone who is running, download the invite, or let us know and we will post invites to you to give to other runners.
If you are running we will send you the package containing the sponsorship list, pamphlets to give to potential sponsors and all the info you will need to help us raise funds to purchase Bibles.
You will be amazed at how many people will sponsor you if you just ask. Family, friends, colleagues at work, church friends, cell group members, Corporate sponsors, Facegroup friends and even other runners. Why not run for Bibles AND challenge your training buddies to run for Bibles too?
The 2010 “Run for Bibles Challenge” will be in aid of the Sena Bible Project.

Comrades 2009
B4B (Bibles for Believers) launched the Sena Project just before the annual Comrades Marathon in May 2009 and Hannalie Loots, our office manager, ran a sponsored race for the Sena Project. She completed the 89 km race and raised just over R 30,000 for this project.
We want to raise at least R 200,000. Word for the World has agreed to try raise a matching amount and together we will try to ensure a reasonable print run and then a strategic Bible Placement.
What can you do?
